• What does "easy fit" mean on a lampshade?

  Easy fit shades attach directly to an existing pendant cord or ceiling rose without any wiring. The shade has a collar that fits over the bulb holder and holds itself in place. Switch off at the mains, remove the old shade, fit the new one. No tools and no electrician needed for a straight swap.

• Will these shades fit my light? E27 or B22?

  Most LEDSone shades are made for an E27 screw base, which is the most common pendant fitting in UK homes. Many include a reducer plate that adapts them to a B22 bayonet base as well. The fitting type for each shade is listed on its product page, so check there before ordering if you're unsure which base you have.

• Are bulbs included?

  Bulbs are usually sold separately, since most people have a preference on brightness and colour temperature. Check the individual product page for what's in the box. LED bulbs are worth using in metal shades because they run cooler than filament or halogen equivalents.

• Can I fit these myself or do I need an electrician?

  Easy fit shades are a straightforward swap you can do yourself with the power off at the consumer unit. Pendant sets, ceiling lights and wall lights involve connecting to the mains, and we'd recommend a qualified electrician for those so the installation meets UK wiring regulations.

• Are the pendant lights dimmable?

  Some are and some aren't, and it depends on the fitting as well as the bulb. Check the product page for the specific item. Bear in mind that a dimmable fitting still needs a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch to work properly, otherwise you get flicker or buzzing.

• What size shade should I choose?

  For a dining table, aim for a shade roughly a third of the table width, hung 75 to 90cm above the surface. Over a kitchen island, larger shades of 30cm and up look right. For hallways, landings and smaller bedrooms, something in the 18cm to 25cm range is usually a better fit. Every product page lists the diameter and height.

• How long does delivery take?

  All LEDSone orders ship free to UK mainland addresses and arrive within 3 to 5 working days. Northern Ireland is excluded from free delivery. There are no additional charges added at checkout.

• What if I order the wrong shade?

  You can return an unused item in its original packaging. If it's a change of mind or the size wasn't right, the cost of return postage is yours to cover. If something arrives faulty or damaged, get in touch and we'll sort it out separately at no cost to you. Full details are on the returns policy page.
