Finding the Right Wall Clock for Your Home
Choosing a wall clock is more straightforward than it might seem, but a few things are worth thinking about before you buy.
Size and Scale
The size of your clock should match the scale of the wall and the room. A 30cm clock on a large, bare living room wall will look lost. Something in the 60-80cm range tends to work well as a living room focal point, especially above a fireplace, sofa, or console table. For smaller spaces like a kitchen or bedroom, a 30-40cm clock is often enough.
Style and Finish
Think about what is already in the room. A black metal clock works well in industrial or minimalist interiors. Gold and brass tones suit warmer, more traditional spaces. Mirrored finishes are a clever choice in smaller rooms because they help bounce light around. If you are going for a more eclectic look, something with visible gears or a vintage-inspired face can add real character.
Placement
Eye level is a good starting point for most rooms. For a living room clock, aim for the centre of the wall or above a key piece of furniture. In a hallway, a clock works well when it is the first thing you see as you come through the door. Avoid placing clocks in direct sunlight if they have a mirrored or metallic finish, as glare can become an issue.
Quiet Movement
Most clocks in our range run on a single AA battery and use a quiet sweep or standard quartz movement. If you are placing a clock in a bedroom or study where background ticking would be distracting, look for clocks described with a silent or sweep movement.
All our wall clocks are ready to hang and include a wall hook or hanging mechanism. Most models run on a standard AA battery, which is not included in the box.
